Yukari is the founder of nida, a yoga studio in Tokyo, Japan. After earning a master’s degree in cultural anthropology and teaching geography at high schools, she began sharing yoga full-time and has now been teaching for over 11 years.
Her offerings include hatha yoga, yoga philosophy, meditation, and kirtan. In all of her classes, workshops, retreats, and private sessions, she emphasizes yoga as a way of living and being. Even her regular hatha classes are rooted in profound non-dual philosophy, inviting students to embody the teachings in everyday life.
Since founding nida in 2014, Yukari has been actively building bridges between Japan and the global yoga community—inviting international teachers to Japan while organizing and translating their workshops and retreats. She also spends four to six months abroad each year, teaching workshops, attending advanced trainings, deepening her meditation practice in India, assisting her teachers, and leading retreats in Bali, Indonesia.
She has been in her Guru’s tradition since 2017, returning annually to the ashram in Maharashtra to offer seva and focus on her sādhanā. While she began chanting simple mantras years ago, her understanding of their depth and meaning transformed through devotional practice guided by her Gurus.
Yukari has guided kirtan in Japan and has also offered it in Bali and Spain. She participated in the International Yoga Festival 2024, singing harmony for Daphne Tse. Since 2024, she has been studying Nāda Yoga with Gurnimit Singh, continuing to deepen her passion for sacred sound.
