Paula Tapia C-IAYT, E-RYT500, YACEP is an international yoga therapist, mindfulness educator, and wellness expert specializing in integrative health, self-care education, lifestyle, and energy medicine. She serves as a lecturer in the Physical Education and Mind-Body Health Department at the University of Southern California (USC) and as guest faculty in Yoga USC’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.
She is the founder of Beyond Rest™, a multidimensional, experiential restorative yoga program designed to support nervous system regulation, stress reduction, and sustainable well-being. Paula has collaborated with leading medical centers within the U.S. healthcare system, integrating evidence-based mind-body practices across autoimmunity and inflammation, sports medicine and orthopedics, physical therapy, women’s health, and preventative medicine, while contributing to clinical research and program development.
Raised in Patagonia, Chile, and rooted in Southern Native American shamanic traditions, Paula’s work is informed by a deep respect for nature, lineage, and embodied wisdom. Having studied yoga, meditation, and mindfulness across the East and the West; she bridges ancient healing traditions with modern science and integrative health education.
Paula now lives in Woodstock, New York, where she retreats, studies, and explores life science, conscious spirituality, and sustainable living, inspired by her love of nature and the arts. She leads global wellness retreats, immersive group experiences, and continuing education programs in both English and Spanish.
