Yogacharya Dr. Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani is an internationally respected yoga therapist, educator, researcher, and lineage holder of the Gitananda tradition. He serves as Director of the Institute of Salutogenesis and Complementary Medicine (ISCM) and Professor of Yoga Therapy at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University, Pondicherry, and is Joint Secretary of the Indian Yoga Association and Vice President of Yogasana Bharat. He has Co-founded Sannidhi Yoga, a yoga platform committed to sharing the transformative wisdom of yoga as a path of inner growth and conscious living, along with his Shishya Yogachrini Anandji Mary Cecil. A gold-medalist physician (MBBS) with advanced qualifications in yoga and complementary medicine, he has contributed to numerous expert committees of the Ministry of AYUSH and serves as Consultant Resource Person to the WHO Collaborative Centre for Traditional Medicine (Yoga). A recipient of a DSc in Yoga and an IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist, he has authored over 35 books and hundreds of research publications, training thousands of students worldwide. He was honoured with the Puduvai Kalaimamani, the Government of Puducherry’s highest cultural award recognizing excellence in arts and traditional knowledge systems, as well as the Yoga Chikitsa Ratna from the Indian Yoga Association, and continues to share the science and spirit of yoga globally through education, research, and service.
