Dr. Ron Alexander Ph.D.,(Zendoc) teaches mindfulness meditation and yoga and practices mind/body psychotherapy in Santa Monica, CA.
He is the author of “Wise Mind Open Mind: Finding Purpose and Meaning in Times of Crisis, Loss and Change.” He is the executive Director of the OpenMind Training Institute, and specializes in the practice of somatic psychology, creativity and Yoga Psychology. He is the originator of the OpenMind Training, a unique method of mind/body healing that integrates the wisdom teachings of the east and western psychology.
A Buddhist practitioner who was ordained as a lay Zen Buddhist, he has studied and taught Meditation, Buddhist psychology, Kundalini yoga and other healing disciplines for 40 years in the U.S., Europe, Russia, Australia, Canada, Japan and Asia. Ron has been active teaching and training health professionals both nationally and internationally in the field of mind/body healing and health psychology.
Dr. Alexander has studied Ashtanga, Vinyasa flow, Iyengar, and Hatha yoga and was one of the first American trained teachers in the early 70’s in the science and art of Kundalini yoga. He was the co-founder of the Kundalini Research Institute and conducted the early research studies using Kirlian photography, scientifically examining the effects of kundalini meditation on altered states of consciousness, the psychophysiology of neuroscience, and holistic health care.
